Chuck Ostermeier

Senior Research Scientist

Charles Ostermeier, PhD (Chuck) joined Androvia LifeSciences in April of 2015 as Senior Research Scientist. Chuck is a co-author on “Localization patterns of the ganglioside GM1 in human sperm are indicative of male fertility and independent of traditional semen measures” and corresponding author on the second publication, “Validation of a laboratory developed test of human sperm capacitation” (Molecular Reproduction and Development 2017). He is also a listed author for several scientific abstracts and poster presentations on sperm function presented at various conferences in 2016 including the American Society of Andrology (ASA), the American Urological Association (AUA) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Over the course of his career, Chuck has more than 30 peer reviewed publications, book chapters and patents.

In 2000, Dr. Ostermeier received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he developed objective mathematical measures of sperm morphology and investigated their relation to fertility. While completing his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Wayne State University, Chuck investigated the regulation of spermatogenic gene expression. Chuck grew his experience in genetics and assisted reproductive technology during his tenure at The Jackson Laboratory.
